PROFILE CONFIGURATION

LAUNCHER SETUP

Set a custom name in your launcher so other survivors can identify you in game and so your profile is easier to recognise.

DAYZ LAUNCHER | PROFILE NAME

  1. Open the DayZ Launcher.
  2. Go to the ALL PARAMETERS tab.
  3. Enable the Profile Name option.
  4. Enter the name you want other players to see.
  5. Launch the game. Your profile name will appear in game.

DAYZSA LAUNCHER | PROFILE NAME

  1. Open DayZSA Launcher and go to Settings.
  2. In Additional Parameters, add -name=YourUsername.
  3. Also fill out the In game name field.
  4. Save and launch the game.
IMMERSIVE BREACHING

RAIDING IN BLACKFALL

Raiding on BlackFall is designed to stay grounded and immersive. We use sledgehammer raiding rather than arcade style breaching.

  • Gates only may be raided.
  • Raiding is handled with sledgehammers to keep the system physical and believable.
  • Raid time varies depending on the strength and protection level of the gate you are attacking.
  • Every base must have a clear accessible raid path so defending and attacking stays fair.
  • Do not build impossible to breach layouts or block all practical access routes.
  • Always check the Rules page before raiding so you stay within server policy.
BLACKFALL NOTE

Realistic raiding means commitment matters. A strong gate buys time, but every base should still be fair game if someone is willing to put the work in.

STRUCTURE & DEFENCE

BASE BUILDING

BlackFall uses vanilla base building as the core of the system, keeping base creation familiar and grounded in DayZ's natural survival feel.

  • Build with the normal vanilla base system you already know.
  • We also include a few additions to expand what survivors can do.
  • One of the main additions is custom heavy metal doors that can be free placed.
  • These doors allow stronger, cleaner base layouts and give your compound another layer of defence.
  • Even with stronger setups, every base still needs a valid raid path for fair gameplay.
BUILD SMART

Build for defence, storage and day to day survival, not for exploit layouts. The strongest bases are the ones that balance protection with smart placement.

PLAYER DRIVEN ECONOMY

THE BLACKFALL TRADING FRONT

The BlackFall Trading Front gives survivors the tools to build an economy of their own. Set one up at your base, open a shop somewhere else on the map, or turn a location into a player made market. You choose what you sell, what you charge, and who you do business with. The money moving around BlackFall comes from the players using it.

  • Place a Trading Front inside your own base and sell directly from where you live.
  • Set one up somewhere else on the map if you want to create a shop, market, or trading settlement of your own.
  • Use the custom storefront to list items for other survivors to buy.
  • An unmarked hunting trader is hidden somewhere on the map. Hunters and gatherers who find it can make a living from the animals and resources they bring back from the wild.
  • A separate secret trader is also hidden away. It sells base supplies and other useful goods, but the prices are deliberately high. You are paying for convenience, not an easy shortcut.
  • NPC traders do not sell weapons. Weapons have to come from the world, progression, or another survivor.
  • There are no safe zones. Trading does not remove the risk of survival, so where you build, who you trust, and how you protect your business all matter.
EVERYTHING IS EARNED

BlackFall is meant to make progress feel earned. Trader locations are not marked, weapons are not sitting in an NPC shop, and useful supplies can cost a lot when you do find a trader. Hunt, gather, explore, trade, build, and make your own way. The grind is part of the world.

SEASONAL CONDITIONS

LATE FALL SURVIVAL

The current BlackFall season is late fall, which means the temperature is cold and the environment will punish players who ignore it.

  • Find warm clothing early instead of waiting until you are already soaked or freezing.
  • Prioritise coats, gloves, hats, boots and dry layers.
  • Keep yourself fed, dry and warm so your survivability stays stable.
  • Use shelter, fires and better route planning during long runs.
  • Cold weather is part of the server identity. Survive it and use it to your advantage.
SURVIVE THE FALL

BlackFall rewards people who prepare. Warm gear and good planning will keep you alive longer than rushing unprepared into the dark.
